Size Guide — Rectangular (Horizontal)
Two Panels That Work as One
The Chevron Diptych is a set of two identical square panels, each carrying the same repeating pattern of vertical lines that converge into a double chevron at the center. When hung side by side, the two panels read as a single composition. Shift the spacing between them by a few centimeters and the rhythm changes — wider gap reads as two distinct pieces; tight gap reads as one wide panel.
There is no background board. Every line is cut clean through the wood, so the wall itself becomes part of the design. Light hits the edges of each strip and casts thin shadows that shift with the time of day.
The Material
The base is MDF — stable, consistent, and resistant to the warping that solid wood can develop over time in humid environments. The surface is beech wood veneer: a genuine thin layer of real beech applied to the MDF face. You get the natural grain and warm honey tone of beech without the unpredictability of a solid slab. The surface is finished with a matte protective coating — no sheen, no plastic look. The grain stays visible; the wood reads as raw but is sealed against dust and light handling.
Laser Cut at 0.1mm Precision
Every line in this pattern is cut by CNC laser. The spacing between strips is uniform across both panels to within 0.1mm — which matters when you hang two panels next to each other. If the cuts were uneven, the chevron point would not align. It aligns.
The cut edges are left unsealed — a deliberate choice that keeps the texture honest against the coated face. The exposed MDF edge inside each cut is part of the texture — a slightly lighter tone that creates contrast against the veneer surface.
Choosing Your Size
The pattern in this diptych is built from repetition — more panels, more rhythm. Larger sizes carry the design better than smaller ones.
- Medium — two 40×40cm panels: Works well in a hallway or above a console table. The chevron reads clearly at this scale.
- Large — two 60×60cm panels: The right size for a living room feature wall or behind a sofa. Both panels together span 1200cm with a standard gap.
- Extra Large — two 80×80cm panels: For high ceilings and wide walls. At this scale the vertical lines become a structural element in the room.
Installation
Each panel mounts on standoff screws — four screws per panel, fixed directly into the wall through the pre-drilled holes at the corners. The panel floats a few millimeters off the wall surface, which deepens the shadow effect along the edges. No backing board. No sawtooth hanger. You position each panel independently, which means you control the gap between them precisely.
A standard spirit level and pencil are all you need. The mounting template is included.
A Note on the Wood
Beech veneer is a closed-grain wood — smooth to the touch, with a fine, even pattern. It does not have the dramatic figure of walnut or the boldness of oak. What it has is consistency: both panels will match in tone and grain direction because they are cut from the same veneer sheet. Over time, beech lightens slightly with UV exposure. Keep it out of direct sunlight if you want to preserve the original warm tone.
As a Gift
This piece works for a housewarming, a wedding gift, or a new office opening — any occasion where the person values a considered, lasting piece over something generic. It ships flat-packed with both panels wrapped separately, ready to give.

Chevron Diptych – Geometric Laser Cut Wood Wall Art
What material is this geometric wood wall art made from?
The panels are made from MDF with a beech wood veneer surface. MDF provides a stable, warp-resistant base, while the beech veneer gives the face its natural grain and warm honey tone. There is no paint or stain — the color is the wood itself.
How do I hang the two panels?
Each panel mounts on standoff screws — four screws per panel, drilled directly into the wall through pre-drilled corner holes. A mounting template is included. The panels float a few millimeters off the wall, which creates a shadow effect around the edges. You position each panel independently, so you control the gap between them.
How long does production take before shipping?
Each set is made to order and ready in 3–5 business days. Shipping time is added on top of that depending on your location. You will receive a confirmation with the estimated ready date when you place your order.
Which size should I choose for my living room?
For a standard living room wall or behind a sofa, the Large size — 120×60cm (48×24in) per panel — works well. two 60×60cm panels that together span 120×60cm. The Extra Large (160×80cm) is suited for high ceilings and walls wider than 3 meters.
Can this be placed in a room with high humidity, such as a kitchen or bathroom?
MDF is sensitive to sustained moisture. This diptych is suitable for living rooms, offices, hallways, and bedrooms — rooms with normal indoor humidity. It is not recommended for kitchens, bathrooms, or any space with direct moisture exposure.
Can I order a custom size not listed?
Yes. Send us your required dimensions before ordering and we will confirm feasibility and pricing. Custom sizes typically add 2–3 business days to the production time.
