Yahya Sinwar gave 23 years of his life to an Israeli prison cell. He did not break. He emerged in 2011 knowing his enemy better than most generals know their own armies. He spent the next thirteen years preparing. On October 7th 2023, he launched the most significant military operation against the occupation since 1948 — and changed the course of history with it. A year later, in October 2024, he was found in Rafah — not hiding, not surrendering. On foot, alone, in a collapsed building, still advancing. He was killed the way he lived: facing forward. This piece is carved from the last chapter of that life. The keffiyeh on his head is not a costume — it is a flag he never put down.

How This Cultural Wood Wall Art Is Made

The portrait is carved by CNC router at 0.1mm pass depth, pulling the image from the surface through controlled removal. The keffiyeh border pattern around the frame is carved in the same session — the machine treats the portrait and the border as a single file. After the router finishes, the piece is hand-sanded to smooth every transition between carved and uncarved surface. No paint, no stain. The contrast you see is purely depth — shadow sitting inside the grooves.
